They Shall Kill Him

And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. (Mark:9:30)

For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. (Mark:9:31)

But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. (Mark:9:32)

Who is this Son of man?

The disciples didn’t understand the saying, “The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day?”

Evidently, they didn’t think that the character Jesus was talking about himself, because if they thought he was talking about himself, what would there be to, “Not understand?”

Matthew

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: (Matthew:17:22)

The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men? In the Gospel of Mark:

The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. (Mark:9:31)

And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. (Matthew:17:23)

Vehemently – in a forceful, passionate, or intense manner; with great feeling.

Sorry - to distress; reflexively or passively to be sad: - cause grief, grieve be in heaviness (be) sorrow (-ful) be (make) sorry.

In the Gospel of Mark:

For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. (Mark:9:31)

But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. (Mark:9:32)

Why did the author of the Gospel of Matthew write, “And they were exceeding sorry?”

Luke

And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, (Luke:9:43)

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. (Luke:9:44)

In the Gospel of Mark:

For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. (Mark:9:31)

But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. (Mark:9:32)

In the Gospel of Matthew:

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: (Matthew:17:22)

And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. (Matthew:17:23)

In the Gospel of Luke, the character Jesus said:

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. (Luke:9:44)

The author, “Authors” or “Authorities” or whoever “Fabricated” the Gospel of Luke, totally left out the part where the authors of the Gospels of Mark and Matthew wrote:

“And they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.” (Mark:9:31)

“And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again.” (Matthew:17:23)

It seems the author, “Authors” or “Authorities” who “Fabricated” the Gospel of Luke, want its audience to only know that the Son of man would be delivered into the hands of men, not that they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again!

But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. (Luke:9:45)

In the Gospel of Mark, the disciples of the character Jesus, “Understood not that saying.”

In the Gospel of Matthew, the disciples of the character Jesus must have understood the saying because, “They were exceeding sorry.”

In the Gospel of Matthew, the disciples, “Must” understand the saying, because it was, “Foretold” by the “Holy Scriptures!” Right?

In the Gospel of Luke, however, not to “Agree Completely” with either the author of the Gospel of Mark or the author of the Gospel of Matthew, “They understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying?!”

It was “Hid” from them that the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men; only, really?!
